Utladalen Nasjonalparksenter AS runs a visitor center for the national park with an exhibition and a small café with simple food and a small store. We also participate in the operation of Avdalen gard in the 2026 season. Those who are hired are mainly caretakers, but will take some shifts as tourist hosts in the national park center, and as hosts at Avdalen gard.

Qualifications and job duties:
You must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be in good physical condition to perform physically demanding work for several hours each day. We primarily seek individuals over the age of 18, but younger applicants may be considered.

The work involves working with mowers, clearing saws and various other tools. Other work that must be done must also be included, such as cleaning, supervising grazing animals, maintaining trails, helping at events, etc. The care work is carried out both down in Utladalen using ATVs as a means of transport, but also up on the mountainside, along trails and around stables. You will mostly work together with others in a work team, with a supervisor who will follow up on the work. Training is provided at the beginning of the work period. All equipment and protective equipment is available at the workplace.

Some of the work may involve hosting Avdalen farm. You will then be responsible for arranging and cooking for the guests (breakfast and simple dinner dishes) in addition to running a simple summer café up here, and cleaning the rooms and common areas. It may be appropriate to have a permanent person for this work from weeks 28-35, so please write in your application if you are interested in working only in Avdalen, or mainly as a care worker. If we cannot find a permanent person as a host in Avdalen, the care workers will have to take turns working one day every now and then as a host in Avdalen. Those who are hired must be flexible in their working hours related to the days as hosts, as the working day can be divided into breakfast and dinner shifts, with a longer break in between.

If there are applicants who are particularly suited to working mostly in care, or to working more in the café, something can be arranged for them to have time off.
